Yasmin Ahmad : A Great Storyteller

Today is a gloomy Saturday.
It rained. Perhaps, it should.

I was pretty fidgety for the past few hours.
Went online, logged in Facebook, checked mails and skipped lunch.
Yes, THAT fidgety, if you wouldnt call it BOREDOM.

Not till I stumbled upon Hunny Madu's (FLY FM Radio Announcer) blog, and realised what I read...

''On a more serious note,
i learned later that night, Yasmin Ahmad passed away @ 11.25pm.
Al-Fatihah to the great story teller of Malaysia.
Here's my tribute quote to her:

"Without realizing, Yasmin Ahmad created the One Malaysia concept since the beginning through her ads and movies. If Malaysia is to be remembered through visual art, Yasmin Ahmad's name deserves to be on top of the list."

WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND REMEMBER WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR US.
REST IN PEACE.''

Quoted from '' SAYA HUNNY MADU, www. hunnymadu.blogspot.com''

Yes, I was a few days late upon receiving this news for one reason; being so deep in a rural part of a northern state in Malaysia,

yet,

It took me by storm.
Perhaps, it was because of her ads. I always loved her ads. Inspirational, yet amazingly funny.
Perhaps, she has been a role model.
Or, perhaps, it is the fondness of a Malaysian, towards her undying works on unity, faith, and hope.

I felt a gush of emotions that threated to spill droplets of sadness, love and ''rojak'' (mixed) emotions.

It took me awhile to comprehend that its a fact. Just like the late Michael Jackson's passing on that took me by storm.

And I am still deeply sad. Malaysians adore her greatly. Her faith, her works, her dreams to unite fellow Malaysians, striving towards the 1 Malaysia concept. And how many Malaysians would do the same, exactly?
ONE? TWO? Maybe a handfuls?

And, it made me think, that anything might happen. Any second, any minute, any hour.
It made me realise that we should appreciate those around us, and tell them that we love them, today, tomoorow, forever.

Yes, it made me less fidgety. But, the thoughts on life, its expectations, and unexpectations were inexorably scary.

U might now know what ll happen, when, and why. Me neither.
Because, at the end of the day,
WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS.
